Jr Boys B-ball Champions!
BCS - Building a Firm Foundation
The Junior Boys Basketball team went to Hamilton to participate in the invitational tournament for all Christian Schools in Western Ontario.
They cruised through their first two games on Friday and then played their playoff games on Saturday. The boys came back from being down by 17 and by 9 in the semi final game to win and head to the final game against Hamilton District Christian School in their own gym. After going up by 12 points, Hamilton fought back to take the lead. The lead was exchanged in a very tightly contested game with Gagan Lal hitting a three in the final minute to go up by two. With BCS up by two, Hamilton had one last chance with .06 seconds left and an inbounds play under the Bcs net. On the final play Hamilton managed to pull off an amazing play to score and send the game to overtime.
With four minutes of overtime, the team pressed Hamilton into many turnovers while they executed well along with some great defense and clock management they were able to take control and win 68-63.
This win was especially rewarding because this tournament was identified by us at the beginning of this year as our number one goal. Congratulations team on your success.
